2026 Foundation Enrolments

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation enrolment timeline. You can find information and resources about this new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Heidelberg Primary School from 22 April 2025.

You will be able to determine your school zone by accessing  Find My School.

Important Notes:

  1. If you are in the Heidelberg Primary School zone or have a child at our school who will still be enrolled in 2025, you should access and complete the Student Enrolment Form 2026
  2. If you live outside of the Heidelberg Primary School zone, you will need to access and complete the Student Application Form 2026
  3. If you are not able to access these forms online, you may visit the school office to collect a hardcopy.

Prospective 2026 Foundation families will have the opportunity to tour our school on the following dates:

Please note that the tour groups are limited to 16 people per session.

We also invite families to attend an Open Morning during EDUCATION WEEK, date and times TBA. Tours are conducted by our student leaders.

Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Heidelberg Primary School.

(link https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep) You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Heidelberg Primary School from 22 April 2025.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school on 9457 2259 to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process or book a school tour via our website https://www.heidelbergps.vic.edu.au/ once dates are advertised in March.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  6. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
